New Year New Beginning, Rosh Hashana 5776-2015 in Kishinev Moldova

This year, a record number of people attended the services, to hear the shofar, and to participate in the Yizkor memorial prayer for their departed loved ones. On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, large crowds gathered for Tashlich in the yard of the synagogue.

During the High Holidays – Rosh Hashanah, hundreds of Jews attended services at Jewish Community Chabad synagogue in Kishinev, which is run under the leadership of Rabbi Yossef Abelsky, the country’s Chief Rabbi and Chabad shliach.

A lot of efforts prior to the holiday was taken to reach as many people as possible, students, children and elderly to prepare them for the holiday.

When the festival began, many women gathered at the synagogue to light the holiday candles with Rebbetzin Leah Abelsky.
